Struggle is another name of life and a struggling person writes the story of success one day or the other. Today we are going to talk about one such beautiful female PCS officer, whose story of struggle will continue to inspire the new generation, especially the women. There was a time in her life when she did not even have money to buy a newspaper.
Saw the dream of becoming an IAS in Lucknow
Ritu Suhas, posted as Additional Director in Directorate of Local Bodies, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, once dreamt of becoming an IAS in Lucknow itself. Ritu Suhas was born on 16 April 1976 in Lucknow. Her father RP Sharma was an advocate in Lucknow High Court, but still the financial condition of the family was not good. This was the reason why she had to face difficulties in studies. Amidst all the ups and downs of life, Ritu completed her studies from Navayug Girls College and started preparing for IAS.
Preparations continued despite protests
It was not easy for Ritu to prepare for IAS. That was the time when there was not much awareness about education and jobs for girls. The family was also not in favour of a daughter working, but citing government jobs, she continued preparing. Seeing her dedication, the family could not stop her and finally she achieved what she set out to do. Ritu passed the UPPCS exam in 2004 and became a PCS officer. In 2005, she got her first posting as a deputy collector in Mathura district. It is Ritu’s ability that got her a special promotion and she became an IAS from PCS.
rough day
Amid financial struggles, she somehow managed to obtain a BA degree. After this, she started working towards achieving her goal. Her family was unable to help her financially. At one point, she did not even have money to buy a newspaper. She also taught tuitions to children, but never let her confidence waver. It is because of that courage and hard work that today she is an inspiration for the youth.
Proved myself step by step
It is not that Ritu Suhas’s same dedication is seen in her job only till she became a PCS officer. She has proved herself at every step. During the 2012 assembly elections, she was posted in Hathras. Her husband IAS Suhas LY was the DM at that time. Just a day before the assembly elections, there was a ruckus while sending polling parties, in which officers were also injured. That incident was in the headlines all over the country, but even after this, the husband and wife conducted the elections peacefully the next day with their wisdom. Not only this, Ritu Suhas has been honored for voter awareness programs and other excellent works.
Social Media Fame
Ritu is also popular on social media. She is married to IAS officer Suhas LY, who is also a professional para-badminton player. He has been awarded the Arjuna Award. He has won silver in the Tokyo Paralympics and gold medal in the World Championship held in Thailand this year. Ritu Suhas has also won the title of Mrs. India in 2019. This is also a reason for her popularity.
